At a rally in poll-bound Telangana, PM Modi said: “Let me tell you a secret … when the BJP won 48 seats in the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election, KCR needed support. Before this election, he used to welcome me at the airport, but later suddenly he stopped doing so. After the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, KCR came to meet me in Delhi and said that he wanted to join NDA. He also asked me to extend support to him. I told him (KCR) that due to his deeds Modi cannot be associated with him.”
Telangana: ‘BRS and Congress, both dynastic parties, working to further corruption and commission’ says PM Modi
“I outrightly rejected his offer due to his deeds. We are ready to sit in the opposition in Hyderabad but we will not betray the people of Telangana,” the Prime Minister added and accused the BRS government in Telangana of looting central funds meant for the state’s development.
The Prime Minister also accused the Congress of supporting the BRS.
“The people of Telangana have to be careful of the Congress party. They are big guns, and they don’t have to do anything with the country and society. The entire country has already rejected the country. Once they are voted out of one state, they don’t return to power. Therefore, they do everything to make a division in the votes, and the BRS has opened its coffers to support the Congress,” the Prime Minister said.
KCR had taken an early initiative to unite the opposition against the BJP for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and had met several opposition chief ministers in the process. However, later he backed out of the initiative and has stayed away from the INDIA bloc, which includes 28 opposition parties.
