Actor accuses househelp of stealing jewellery, cash in Mumbai | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: A female actor has lodged a police complaint against her househelp for stealing jewellery and currency from her Goregaon residence. The Bangur Nagar Police registered a case under section 381 of IPC for theft.
Yamini Rawal, 40, has said in her complaint that the accused, Pramod Gupta, 20, was working at her residence for the past two months. At times, he would also work at her mother’s home in Andheri. He lived at her home as did a cook, Shubham Gupta, who had been employed for the past three years. Pramod’s parents stayed at Grant Road and he would visit them sometimes.
On September 1, Rawal couldn’t find her platinum and diamond ring in the house. While searching for the ring, she noticed that a gold chain and Rs 20000 was also missing.
Rawal has said in her complaint that she suspected Pramod’s involvement. When she asked him if he had taken her ring, Pramod reportedly gave evasive responses.
The actor hunted for the valuables all over her house but never found them.
On October 10, Rawal couldn’t find Pramod in the house. She dialled her mother who said that Pramod had dropped her on a motorcycle to the Lokhandwala Garden for jogging. He had then parked the motorcycle in her building, left the keys at her house and hadn’t returned since.
Rawal was convinced that Pramod was involved in the theft at her home and approached the police with a complaint. The worth of the stolen valuables is worth Rs 4.5 lakh.
