BJP to declare CM faces for three states within two days: MP BJP incharge Murlidhar Rao | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Madhya Pradesh BJP in-charge Murlidhar Rao said on Friday that the chief ministers for Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh would be announced within the next two days.
Rao stated, “Central observers appointed by the party for the three states will visit each state, and the party will unveil its Chief Ministerial choices for those regions within the next two days.”

Amidst the anticipation surrounding the Chief Ministerial appointments, the Bharatiya Janata Party revealed its Central observers for the recently conquered states—Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

A party release stated, “The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Parliamentary Board has sanctioned Central observers for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.”
In Rajasthan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Suresh Pandey, and Vinod Tavde, National Secretary General, have been designated as observers. For Madhya Pradesh, observers include Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, K Laxman, National President of OBC Morcha, and Aasha Lakda, National Secretary. In Chhattisgarh, Union Tribal Minister Arjun Munda, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and BJP leader Dushyant Kumar Gautam have been appointed as observers.

Upon their visit to the respective states, the observers are expected to meet the newly elected MLAs in the assembly before announcing the decision on the next Chief Minister.
The BJP, overcoming nearly two decades of incumbency in Madhya Pradesh, secured a decisive victory with 163 seats, while the Congress trailed behind with 66 seats. In Rajasthan, the BJP clinched 115 seats, surpassing the halfway mark, while the Congress secured 69 seats. In Chhattisgarh, out of the 90 assembly constituencies, the BJP won 54, and the Congress secured 35.
However, opposition MPs have raised questions about the BJP’s delay in declaring the Chief Ministerial candidates. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized the BJP for what she termed as “playing musical chairs” and expressed disappointment over the delay in naming the Chief Ministers. She pointed out that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah seem to be making decisions regarding the Chief Ministers, which she deemed unfortunate.
