New Delhi: Japanese sportswear brand, ASICS plans to expand into the Indian market with the addition of 50 new stores by 2025, the company said in a press release on Wednesday.
Asics India has recently launched its 100th store in India and plans to open its first mono-brand store in 2026.
“India is a crucial market for us and with the changing consumer landscape we see a huge potential with new and emerging demand for sports across different regions in India,” said Yasuhito Hirota, President, CEO and COO, Asics Corporation.
Further, the brand’s retail outlet contributes about 60 per cent of the overall business, read the release.
“We aim to penetrate into deep Bharat with more stores in tier 2 & 3 markets over next few years, add more running clubs and partnerships with Marathon events in our existing markets and lead the running and fitness industry in India – all of which will take us closer to fulfilling our commitment to build a stronger sporting culture in India.” said Rajat Khurana, MD, Asics India and South Asia.
Established in 2013, Asics India is a sports shoes and apparel manufacturing brand. They claim to have reported 25 per cent year-on-year growth this year and plan to maintain the growth momentum next year.
