Centre had in 2022 launched an initiative called Ni-kshay Mitra to connect poor TB patients who need help and better-off citizens who can & are willing to help.
The report says that a higher number of patients who received community support visited a health facility, resulting in increased follow-up and treatment adherence. A higher impact was also observed among vulnerable population groups, pregnant/lactating women (18%), migrants (48%), and urban slums (15%), the health ministry’s report states.
