NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Monday slammed Rahul Gandhi‘s ‘murder of democracy,’ stating that the Congress MP had no ‘right to talk’ due to his grandmother, Indira Gandhi putting ‘lakhs of people in jail during emergency.’
‘Rahul Gandhi has no right to talk about democracy; his grandmother put lakhs of people in jail during Emergency, banned parties,’ the home minister said at a rally in Jodhpur.
Rahul in a post on X (formerly Twitter) had issued a warning to take ‘strict action against those trying to murder the democracy,’ referring to the notices issued by the Income Tax department to the grand old party.
On Friday the party had received fresh notices from the I-T department, demanding approximately Rs 1,823 crore. The notices, issued for the assessment years 2017-18 and 2020-21, included penalties and accrued interest.
The home minister also said at the Maha rally organised by the INDIA bloc on March 31, “no matter how many parties you gather, only Modi is going to come.”
Shah also claimed that if PM Modi is elected for a third term he will make India the third biggest economy in the world, while also reaffirming the BJPs target of 370 seats
Shah also reaffirmed BJP’s target of 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections saying , and claimed that if PM Modi is elected for a third term he will make India the third biggest economy in the world.
Make Narendra Modi PM the third time and India will become 3rd largest economy,” Shah said, adding “NDA will win more than 400 seats and BJP will win more than 370 seats.”
