NEW DELHI: West Indian all-rounder Sunil Narine went hammer and tongs on Wednesday, giving Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) a start to remember for a long time during their IPL match against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam.
Narine, who scored just one boundary till the third over, broke the shackles as he launched an assault on seasoned DC seamer Ishant Sharma, hammering him for 26 runs in the fourth over of the innings after KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer opted to bat first.Narine started off with back-to-back sixes off the very first two balls, and followed it up with a cracking boundary. Ishant delivered an odd dot ball on the fourth to take a sigh of relief but only to be hit for a six and four on the next two deliveries.

Narine, who added 104 runs for the second wicket in quick time with young batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi, finally got out on 85, his highest T20 score, which came in 39 balls. His knock was studded with 7 fours and as many sixes.

Raghuvanshi, who slammed a 25-ball fifty in his IPL debut innings, gave good company to Narine after the fall of opener Philip Salt (18).
DC brought in Sumit Kumar in place of injured Mukesh Kumar, while Raghuvanshi has been included in KKR’s playing XI in the team’s only change for the match.
