NEW DELHI: At least seven people were killed after a massive fire broke out in a clothing store in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar cantonment area on Wednesday morning.
According to police, the fire broke out at around 4am.
“At around 4am, a fire broke out in a clothing shop in the cantonment area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The fire did not reach the second floor but after a preliminary investigation, we think seven people died due to suffocating…The reason behind the fire is yet not clear. Further investigation is under way,” said Manoj Lohiya, commissioner of police, Aurangabad.
