NEW DELHI: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday took a potshot at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that if the young leader came to the state to campaign it would only end up benefitting the BJP.
Gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections, Sarma addressed a mega election campaign rally and took part in a road show in the Karimganj Lok Sabha constituency.
“I want Rahul Gandhi to come to Assam and campaign. This will benefit the BJP and hundreds of Congressmen will leave the party,” Sarma said in his speech, a snippet of which he posted on X (formerly Twitter).
