“Hello friends, there was an orange party in the helicopter today. He won’t be irritated by the color orange, right?” RJD leader wrote on Platform ‘X’.
Tejashwi Yadav, son of Lalu Yadav, is accompanied by Mukesh Sahni in the helicopter in between election campaign.
“We are having oranges today. The BJP will have issues with this too. They will find a religious angle in this too,” said Sahni in the video.
“Should not we eat or drink at all? They say it’s our bhagwa color, bhai, it is not just yours, but ours too. If it is an edible item, we will eat it,” he added.
Tejashwi Yadav mentions that the oranges were given to them by the public in Jamui.
The duo received criticism for a video showing Yadav eating fish fry, sparking controversy and drawing backlash from BJP leaders and some netizens during Navratri.
Union minister Giriraj Singh accused Yadav of appeasement politics, referencing his father’s alleged leniency towards certain groups. Singh labeled Yadav a “seasonal Sanatani” and accused the party of appeasement.
Responding, Yadav clarified on Platform X that the video was recorded before Navratri and dismissed the outrage as a diversion tactic. He mocked BJP supporters and the media, asserting that his associate Sahni’s use of the term “mirchi lagegi” had been justified.
