Medical college applications for 2024-25 still under process: National Medical Commission | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: National Medical Commission (NMC) has clarified that it is yet to grant permission to open new medical colleges for the academic session 2024-25. “Applications received for this academic year are still under process,” said a senior official.
Sources said NMC, the apex body for regulating medical education in the country, has received 112 applications for opening new medical colleges which have been reviewed and approved by the competent authority.
Now, all these colleges will be asked to furnish details about faculty and other staff which must match the proposed intake commensurate with available bed strength of the attached hospital. It will be followed by a physical inspection and then a final call will be taken to grant permission to open the medical college, officials said.
