India has successfully conducted another test of indigenous man-portable anti-tank guided missile (MP-ATGM), which has a strike range of 2.5km strike, with DRDO saying the weapon system is now ready for final user trials by the Army.
The fire-and-forget MP-ATGM, which is equipped with day/night and top attack capabilities to penetrate modern armour-protected tanks, has been field evaluated in different flight configurations several times with the objective of proving the technology, DRDO said “Adequate trials were conducted for achieving compliance of the complete operational envelope as stipulated in the Army’s general staff qualitative requirements,” it said.
