MUZAFFARNAGAR/MEERUT: BSP chief Mayawati on Sunday said her party will take concrete steps to make western UP a separate state if voted to serve at the Centre.
At a rally in support of BSP candidate from Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha seat Dara Singh Prajapati, Mayawati also said BJP has a very slim chance of coming to power again.
She said if free and fair elections are held and voting machines are not tampered with, BJP will not be re-elected.
“Most of BJP’s time was spent on making wealthy businessmen wealthier … BJP and other parties contest elections with the support of these businesses. This was revealed by electoral bond data,” she added.
Addressing farmers’ concerns, she said, “Farmers of Western UP know that whenever the govt was formed under my leadership, we provided a fair price for each of their crops, especially for sugarcane farmers. In the past and even now, no other party has offered them the right price.”
