Ram Navami stock market holiday: Stock market holidays in April will see the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) closed on two separate occasions. Indian stock exchanges are scheduled to be closed for trading on April 17, Wednesday, for Ramnavami. In addition to this, the market was also closed for Eid-Ul-Fitr (Ramzan Eid) on April 11, Thursday.
The stock markets will be closed on certain days in May, June, July, August, October, and December, and twice in November in addition to April.On November 1, which is a Friday and the festival of Diwali (Laxmi Pujan), there will be Muhurat Trading, and the exact timings will be announced later.
Any changes to the holiday calendar will be announced in advance through a separate circular.

The Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) will not be conducting trading on April 17 during the morning session from 9 AM to 5 PM, but will resume in the evening from 5 PM until either 11:30 PM or 11:55 PM, states an ET report. The National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) will also be closed on that day.
According to the BSE holiday calendar for 2024, there are a total of 14 trading holidays in 2024. So far, the indices have been closed four times this year, including on Republic Day, Maha Shivratri, Holi, and Good Friday in March.
In March, the Nifty Index rose by 1.6% to 22,327 and the Nifty Bank increased by 2.2% to 47,125. Meanwhile, the midcap index fell by 0.5% and the small-cap Index dropped by 4.4%.
