PUNE: Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar Wednesday kicked up a storm with his reference to Draupadi‘s marriage to five men, and a promise to allocate funds only if people voted for the Mahayuti candidate, in Indapur.
Addressing a gathering in Baramati constituency, Ajit said: “The ratio in some districts had dipped to 850 females against 1,000 males, and had gone down to 790 females as against 1,000 males on some occasions. If it remains like this, it will be critical in future. It may turn out to be a Draupadi-like situation,” he said.
MVA politicians lashed out at Ajit over “funds-for-vote” promise, terming it a poll code violation, and urged the Election Commission to take action.
