With the first phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 set to start tomorrow (April 19), the Election Commission of India (ECI) has already started printing and sending the Voter Information Slip (VIS) to registered voters whose names are in the electoral roll (Read: How to check your name in the electoral roll).
For those unaware, a voter slip or VIS is a document issued by EIC ahead of an election to inform voters about the necessary details.The slip contains details like name, age, gender, assembly constituency and most importantly polling station location, room number, date time of poll and more. Along with this, it also contains a QR code for quickly verifying the voters’ details.
Now, if you haven’t received your VIS till now, you’ll receive it closer to the voting date or you can download it right away using the EIC’s official mobile app as well as EIC’s official website.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to download the Voter Information Slip or VIS on your phone.
Download Voter Information Slip using mobile app
- Open Play Store or Apple App Store and download
Voter Helpline app - Tap on Download “E-EPIC” option
- Login using your registered phone number, password and OTP (register if you haven’t already)
- Once done, enter your EPIC number (found on the Voter ID card)
- Alternatively, you can also find your VIC using the Application reference number
- After this, you’ll see your Voter Slip details, tap on it and enter the OTP again to open the VIC document.
Download Voter Information Slip using website
- Open “https://voters.eci.gov.in/” and login using phone number, password and OTP (register if you are new to the website).
- Click on ‘Download E-EPIC’ option
- Enter EPIC number (found on your Voter ID card)
- Once done, E-EPIC along with the VIS will be downloaded
Once you have your E-EPIC, you can either print the entire page or just the VIS page you can take a print out and carry it with you to the polling station to cast the vote.
