PM Modi, while addressing a gathering in Banswara, had alleged that Congress party intends to provide hard-earned money of people and gold of our women to ‘those having more children’ and questioned whether or not this is acceptable to the public.
“Congress manifesto says that it will calculate the gold owned by our mothers and sisters, collect information and then distribute to those … who former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said that had the first right on the country’s wealth,” said the Prime Minister.
“When they (Congress) were in government, they said that Muslims have the first right over India’s resources. So, they will distribute this wealth (property and gold) among those having more children, among illegal immigrants … this Urban Naxal thinking won’t even spare your Mangalsutra,” the PM added.
‘Technique to divert from real issues’
“Unemployment and inflation are at their peak in the country and Narendra Modi says ‘everything is fine,” tweeted former Congress head Rahul on Monday, sharing the Congress’ most recent ad that highlights rising costs and unemployment.
Gandhi wrote in Hindi on X, “He (Modi) has several new techniques to ‘divert from the issues’, but the end of the business of lies is near.”
‘Politics has stooped down to such a level like never before in history’
Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Kapil Sibal questioned whether the 20 crore people in the nation matter to the Prime Minister. He also urged the Election Commission of India to issue a notice to the Prime Minister for his remarks.
“You (PM Modi) are giving a speech that the Congress will give the properties of the women to infiltrators and terrorists. Do 20 crore people do not matter to him? Do they not have any aspirations? Politics has stooped down to such a level and it has not happened in history and I do not want it to happen. I want to ask a question to the Election Commission why action was not taken immediately. You (EC) should condemn it and a notice should be given to PM Modi,” Sibal said at a press conference.
‘Completely disillusioned’
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut also slammed PM Modi’s remark saying that he has become ‘completely disillusioned’ and claimed that he is going to lose the election.
“He even talked about mangalsutra (sacred thread worn around the neck by women). It means he is completely disillusioned and is going to lose this election,” Raut said.
“The possibility of electoral loss bothers him, and that is why such language…how can individuals having a certain number of kids be a campaign issue?” he added.
‘Conspiracy to destroy Constitution of Babasaheb Ambedkar’
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said that the PM speaks about the world in a ‘poisonous language’. He also questioned the government over the census, alleging that it was an attempt to destroy the constitution.
“The Prime Minister speaks in a poisonous language on a whole lot of issues. He should also answer a simple question – Since 1951, census has been conducted every ten years. This reveals the actual data of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe population. This should have been done in 2021 but has not been done till date. Why is the Prime Minister silent on this?,” he said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
‘PM should stop politics of hatred’
Former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav also slammed PM Modi for his remarks, asking the Prime Minister to discuss major issues of the country and quit the ‘politics of hatred’.
“The major issues should be discussed. The progress and development of Bihar should be discussed. The Prime Minister should quit politics of hatred and discuss major issues. Youth, businessmen, farmers, women and every section of the nation have the same issues, i.e., poverty, inflation, unemployment and bad economy,” the RJD leader said.
