20-yr-old NEET aspirant ends life in Kota; 8th suicide this yr – Times of India



KOTA: A 20-year-old preparing for NEET at a Kota institute died by suicide on Tuesday morning in the second such incident in three days and the eighth this year.
Bharat Kumar Rajput, from Dholpur in Rajasthan, ended his life in his PG room.
This is the second such incident within three days and the eighth this year in the coaching hub.
Bharat Kumar Rajput, who He had been preparing for NEET in Kota for the last one year and had taken the exam twice.He was scheduled to take a third attempt on May 5, sub-inspector Gopal Singh of Jawahar Nagar police station said. Bharat left a suicide note that revealed he was distressed over not being able to crack NEET.
Bharat’s nephew Rohit informed the cops. Rohit took the extreme step when his nephew (sister’s son) Rohit, who was also preparing for the same exam and staying with Bharat. He had gone for a haircut when Bharat took his life. Rohit returned around 11.15 am and found the room locked from inside, with his persistent knocking at the door getting no response. On peeping inside through a window, Rohit found Bharat dead, the SI said. On Sunday, Sumit Panchal (20) of Rohtak in Haryana, who was also preparing for NEET in Kota, had died in a similar manner in his hostel room.
