DGCA removes Vistara head of pilot training after probe into lapses | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has removed Vistara’s VP Pilot training, Captain Vikram Mohan Dayal, over alleged lapses in conversion training of pilots, a senior official said on Tuesday.
The regulator had conducted an enquiry into alleged lapses in conversion training of some pilots. This conversion training allows a narrow body pilot to operate wide body aircraft.Officials say the lapses were noticed in the conversion training of over 10 pilots and after the enquiry, the regulator decided to take action against the airline’s head of training head.
Multiple pilots say Vistara pilot training leaves a lot to be desired for. “It takes an unusually long time for a pilot to be released into service among other issues,” they said.
