RAIPUR: Maoists murdered two brothers for giving their land to the administration to set up a police camp in Bijapur in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar on Wednesday night. Their retaliation came within 48 hours after 10 insurgents, including some senior commanders, were gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Abujhmarh.
Maoists kidnapped Joga Madavi and Joga Hunga from Chhutwai village in Tarrem region of Bijapur, a hotbed of insurgency, police said.Puwarti, the native village of dreaded Maoist commander Hidma, is barely 7km away from Tarrem. The duo was presented before senior Maoist leaders at a so-called ‘jan adalat’, where they were accused of working as police informers. Maoists strangled them with ropes and dumped their bodies outside the village on Thursday.
