NEW DELHI: The Congress party on Sunday claimed that Mallikarjun Kharge’s helicopter was checked in Bihar’s Samastipur and accused poll officials of unduly ‘targetting’ opposition leaders, while BJP-NDA members were allowed to move ‘freely.’
After the helicopter of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was inspected in Kerala, now the helicopter of party president Kharge has been inspected in Bihar’s Samastipur, who addressed back-to-back rallies in the state on Saturday, said Congress leader Rajesh Rathorre on X.
“Malicious behavior of the Election Commission towards the opposition. This is the murder of democracy,’ he wrote on the post.
Rathorre, who serves as the main spokesperson for the Congress’ Bihar unit, also posted a video alleging that the chief electoral officer of Bihar as personally overseeing the inspection of Kharge’s helicopter in Samastipur.

Rathorre, who serves as the main spokesperson for the Congress’ Bihar unit, also posted a video alleging that the chief electoral officer of Bihar as personally overseeing the inspection of Kharge’s helicopter in Samastipur.
The video displayed a helicopter with officials, including those from the police, surrounding it.
“The Election Commission (EC) should clarify whether such checking of choppers of Congress leaders is routine and whether similar checks were also conducted on top leaders of the NDA,” Rathorre said in his video message.
“The EC should make all such records public, otherwise it will be construed that it is only targeting opposition leaders to stop them, and is letting NDA leaders go freely,” he said.
He also said that the EC should release videos of all the leaders who have undergone verification.
