NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday reiterated his claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is paving the way for home minister Amit Shah to assume the role of Prime Minister in the future.
Addressing a joint press briefing with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow, Kejriwal said, “Today, in Lucknow I have come to request the voters of UP to vote for the INDIA alliance.I want to talk about four issues. First, in this election PM Modi is asking for votes for Amit Shah, to make him the PM. “
“Second, If BJP comes to power, CM Yogi Adityanath will be removed from his post within 2-3 months. Third, they are going to change the Constitution and the reservation of SC, ST will be removed. Fourth, on June 4th, the INDIA alliance is coming to power,” he added.
The Delhi chief minister further claimed that BJP is getting less than 220 seats and affirmed that opposition’s INDIA bloc is going to form its government.
“PM Modi will turn 75 on September 17, 2025. PM Modi has decided to make Amit Shah his successor and to make him PM on September 17, 2025…PM Modi has not yet said that he will not retire after 75 years, PM Modi has made this rule and I have full hope that he will follow this rule,” Kejriwal said.
“The trends show that BJP is getting less than 220 seats. Their seats are going to be reduced in Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and Rajasthan. BJP is not going to form its Govt, INDIA alliance is going to form its government,” he added.
The Aam Aadmi Party and the Samajwadi Party are partners in the INDIA bloc in their fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
Last week, the Supreme Court gave interim bail to the Aam Aadmi Party convenor till June 1 ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the national capital. However, as per the terms of his bail, the Delhi chief minister cannot make any comment about his role in the Delhi liquor scam case.
