Lok Sabha elections: Manmohan Singh, LK Advani, Hamid Ansari, MM Joshi caste vote from home | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, former vice president Mohammad Hamid Ansari, former deputy prime minister LK Advani and former Union minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi have all exercised their right to vote through the home voting facility.
“Former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh and former Union minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi successfully cast their votes on May 17 from their home availing home voting facility in the New Delhi parliamentary constituency,” Delhi poll body said.Former vice president Mohammad Hamid Ansari cast his vote on Thursday.
The chief electoral officer (CEO) of Delhi’s office initiated the home voting service for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PwDs) on Thursday, which will continue until May 24.
The poll office’s data reveals that on Friday, the second day of the home voting facility’s operation, 1,409 voters from all seven parliamentary constituencies in Delhi exercised their right to vote from the comfort of their residences. The West Delhi constituency witnessed the highest participation, with 348 voters, out of which 299 were senior citizens.
On the inaugural day, 1,482 voters cast their ballots from home. Across Delhi, a total of 5,406 voters, comprising elderly individuals and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), have submitted Form 12D to leverage the home voting facility for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Delhi is slated to conduct its polls on May 25.
