Swati Maliwal assault case: AAP shares new CCTV footage from outside CM Kejriwal’s house | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged assault on Swati Maliwal, former chairperson of the Delhi commission for women (DCW), a new CCTV footage from chief minister Arvind Kejriwal‘s residence has surfaced.
The video showed Maliwal exiting CM Kejriwal’s residence, escorted by security guards. The footage also captured Maliwal allegedly being engaged in an argument with security personnel outside the premises.
The release of this footage has prompted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to publicly criticize Maliwal once again.AAP shared the video clip on the microblogging site X, and captioned in Hindi saying, “This video exposes the truth behind Swati Maliwal’s allegations.”

This is the second video that AAP has released in connection with the alleged assault.
Amid these developments, Swati Maliwal herself has raised concerns over the integrity of the CCTV cameras installed at CM Kejriwal’s residence. In a statement posted on X, Maliwal alleged tampering with the CCTV footage and urged the Delhi Police to investigate the matter.
On Friday, AAP attacked Maliwal over a purported video clip from the CM’s residence that was supposedly taken on the day of the alleged assault. The video, posted by a news channel, was shared by the party with a caption that read “Swati Maliwal ka sach (Swati Maliwal’s truth).”
It purportedly showed Maliwal having an argument with the security personnel at the CM’s residence.
Post this development, Delhi Police Forensic Science Laboratory team reached Kejriwal’s residence and collected DVR recordings of CCTV footage of many places inside the residence. According to the sources, it will also be investigated whether there was any tampering with the footage.
Meanwhile, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that Swati Maliwal is in touch with BJP leaders as part of a conspiracy against Arvind Kejriwal and AAP.
“She made the allegations of assault on May 13. A video of May 13 from the CM’s residence surfaced, in which she was seen sitting on the sofa and commanding people. She did not seem like a victim in that video… However, in yesterday’s video, she was walking with a limp. This is the contradiction,” Bharadwaj said.
“Senior leaders of the BJP are in contact with her… Delhi CM’s residence has CCTV cameras. Delhi Police will get the footage today or tomorrow… Till now, it seems her version of the story is not true,” he added.
