NEW DELHI: Congress chief on Thursday released a video message, two days before the Delhi polls, and emphasized the significance of these elections in safeguarding democracy and the Constitution.
In the video, Sonia urged the citizens of Delhi to actively participate in this crucial battle and ensure the victory of INDIA bloc candidates across all seven seats.
Gandhi, who serves as the Congress parliamentary party chief, highlighted that the key issues in this Lok Sabha election revolve around unemployment, inflation, and the assault on constitutional institutions.
“This is a very important election. This election is an election to save the democracy and Constitution of the country. This election is being fought on issues like unemployment, inflation and attack on constitutional institutions. You have to play your part in this fight,” she said.
As the campaigning in Delhi comes to a close on Thursday, Gandhi made a fervent appeal to the voters, stating, “Your every vote will create employment, reduce inflation, empower women and create an India of equality with a bright future. I appeal to you to make the candidates of Congress and INDIA coalition victorious on all the seven seats of Delhi with a big margin.”
The national capital is set to go to the polls on May 25, with the results scheduled to be announced on June 4.
