RAIPUR: Two women were injured in a Maoist IED blast at their house in a remote village, 10km from dreaded Maoist commander Madvi Hidma’s home, in Chhattisgarh‘s Sukma district Sunday morning.
Medical help could not reach the injured till late on Sunday in Bheemapuram village, home to battalion 1 of Maoists.
It’s not known if Maoists stashed the IED in the house or planted it there, Sukma SP Kiran Chavan told TOI.
“We are in touch with the sarpanch. We have appealed to villagers to help the women leave the village for treatment. Police are trying their best. Sending troops to the naxal hub is risky,” the SP said.
Chavan said that Maoists often hide IEDs and explosives in villagers’ houses.
