Watch: Tata Punch tumbles down mountain, driver survives near-death experience – Times of India

A video of a dramatic incident involving a Tata Punch SUV in a rollover accident has gone viral on social media. Thankfully, the driver made a last-moment exit from the vehicle as the SUV tumbled from the mountain, flipping several times while going down the steep fall.
The video, shot somewhere in Jammu & Kashmir, shows the SUV veering off the road and tumbling down a steep slope.A couple of bystanders tried to stop the vehicle from coming down the slope but eventually, the SUV couldn’t be stopped and went out of control. In that moment, the driver’s instincts worked and he exited the car, thereby saving him from potential life-ending injuries.

It appears that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle on the treacherous descent while moving on the road, but the exact details are still unknown. Although, he tried to accelerate it and climb the slope but that didn’t workout. This incident also highlights the critical importance of adhering to safe driving practices, especially in challenging mountainous terrain.

Tata Punch, the SUV involved in the incident, is one of the safest compact SUVs available in India. It is also the top-selling passenger vehicle in India, having sold 19,158 units in April 2024, registering a strong 75 percent YoY growth as against the 10,934 units sold in the corresponding month last year. The Punch has excelled in global safety tests, achieving five stars for adult occupant protection and four stars for child safety in the Global NCAP rating.
