NEW DELHI: Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is set to arrive in New Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The visit was confirmed following a phone conversation between Dahal and Modi on Wednesday evening, during which the Narendra Modi extended a formal invitation to his Nepali counterpart.
A senior official, speaking anonymously to ANI, disclosed that the Nepali Prime Minister has accepted the invitation and will attend the ceremony, with a formal announcement expected soon.“During Wednesday evening’s telephonic conversation, the invitation was extended to the Nepali PM for attendance in the swearing-in ceremony. The Nepali Prime Minister also confirmed his attendance. A formal announcement will be made soon,” the official said.
This visit comes on the heels of Dahal, commonly known as ‘Prachanda’, congratulating Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday for the electoral success of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the recent Lok Sabha elections, securing their third consecutive term. Prachanda also praised the Indian electorate for their enthusiastic participation, highlighting the significance of the world’s largest democratic exercise.
