VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh authorities have swung into action on new capital Amaravati, restarting and speeding up projects after sensing the priorities of the incoming TDP-led NDA govt, reports Srikanth Aluri.
Chief secretary Neerab Kumar made a surprise visit to Amaravati on Sunday and said CM-designate N Chandrababu Naidu had given instructions to fast-track the projects.Amaravati had been a signature initiative of Naidu in his previous term till he was unseated by YSRCP in 2018.
The plan took a further hit after outgoing CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced in 2019 a proposal to develop three capitals, puncturing the euphoria around Amaravati and leaving projects idle.He said works would start after the swearing-in ceremony expected later this week.
