NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who won both Lok Sabha seats he contested- Wayanad and Rae Bareli on Wednesday expressed his dilemma regarding which constituency he should represent as a Member of Parliament.
“Both Wayanad and Rae Bareli will be happy with my decision,” said Rahul Gandhi addressing a public meeting in Kerala. This is Rahul’s first visit to the state after the Lok Sabha poll results.
Thanking people for electing him for the second time, Rahul Gandhi said that the people of India have demonstrated to the Prime Minister that he cannot dictate their desires and that the Constitution represents their voice, which should not be tampered with.
“The truth is the Prime Minister barely escaped in Varanasi and he would have been defeated himself in Varanasi. The BJP was defeated in Ayodhya. The people of Ayodhya have given a message that we do appreciate hatred and violence,” Rahul said.
Rahul Gandhi, who won the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat by a huge margin for a second consecutive time, held a road show in this north Kerala.
A large number of UDF workers and supporters gathered along the route of the road show at Edavanna, which falls under the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency. Upon his arrival at Kozhikode airport, Gandhi was warmly welcomed by party leaders and workers.
