BAREILLY: A day after three members of a family were charred to death when they came in contact with an 11KV high tension wire at Hyderabad area of Uttar Pradesh‘s Lakhimpur Kheri district on Monday, UP minister for urban development and energy AK Sharma on Tuesday suspended an executive engineer, a sub-divisional officer (SDO) and a junior engineer (JE) — all from Kheri — with “immediate effect”.
In a post on social media platform, the minister on Tuesday wrote: “As soon as news of this incident was received, UPPCL chairman and MVVNL MD were directed to send the power department team along with police and district administration to the site to provide help and treat the injured.”
He added: “Action has also been initiated against other employees, and specific instructions given to prevent a repeat of such incidents. An ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh is being given to the family of each of the victims and Rs 50,000 to the injured.”
Yogi Adityanath had ordered strict action against those found guilty. In view of this, after preliminary investigation, executive engineer (Gola) Raj Narayan, SDO Vineet Kumar and JE (Gola town) Amrit Lal were suspended, said an official.
