After BSP leader’s murder, another neta hacked to death in Tamil Nadu | Madurai News – Times of India


MADURAI: An armed gang hacked a Naam Tamilar Katchi functionary who was going on morning walk in Madurai’s Chinnachokkikulam area on Tuesday morning. The deceased has been identified as C Balasubramanian from Sellur.
He was walking in Vallabhai Street in the Chinnachokkikulam area which is a posh residential area in the city. State IT and digital services minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan’s house is nearby as well as the Tallakulam Police Station in the vicinity.
Balasubramanian was walking in the street when a four-member gang wielding sickles started chasing him. He tried to flee, raising an alarm, but the gang managed to intercept him and hacked him repeatedly. He was rushed to a private hospital nearby. But the doctors there pronounced him dead.
Tallakulam police inspected the crime spot and a forensic team was pressed into service to collect evidence. Balasubramanian’s body was moved to Government Rajaji Hospital for postmortem. Tallakulam police are screening through the CCTV footage available in the area to find the killers.
