Watch: How Samsung is ‘all over and around’ Apple’s first-ever store in Malaysia – Times of India

Apple opened its first store in Malaysia last month – Apple The Exchange TRX. The store is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s new Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) central business district. Like all Apple facilities, the Apple The Exchange TRX is an architectural marvel with the distinctive glass pyramid design.

Samsung responds to Apple Store with a playful marketing tactic

As the Apple Store made its debut in Malaysia, Samsung had a cheek-in-tongue reaction to it.According to a UK news website- Verdict, Samsung secured the naming rights for the nearest train station to the TRX mall and renamed it ‘Samsung Galaxy’ station.
Samsung’s marketing ploy didn’t stop there. The tech giant reportedly covered the entire station with its advertisements, ensuring that those visiting the Apple Store are constantly encountered with Samsung ads.

Social media response to Samsung’s reaction

Samsung’s reaction has created a buzz on the internet. An Instagram user named @bydanawang shared a reel on the platform that has gone viral. It has garnered over 8.5 lakh likes so far.
Reacting to the Instagram reel, a user wrote “DAMN Samsung said: ‘do not even try Apple’”. “Well done Samsung!,” said another.
A third user wrote “Apple made a deal with TRX management that banned other phone brands other than them from advertising their products in TRX (they can open shop but can’t advertise outside of their shop). Samsung however, discovers a loophole: The TRX MRT station below the complex is not part of TRX itself as it was owned by MRT Corp and thus legally a separate entity. So, Samsung paid MRT Corp to sponsor that station.”
Another user commented “Apple : we buy a shop ..samsung hold on my to my 🍺.. I buy whole station😂😂😂”. “Just imagine an apple store employee telling the address over a fone to customer? ‘Hi, Apple store, Samsung galaxy station. How may I help you’”, said another.
