BENGALURU: A special court for CBI cases in Bengaluru permitted a 41-year-old man accused in a fraud case to leave the country to join a private firm in Canada, reports Santoshkumar B.
CBI had arrested one Joe Abraham Mathews, a resident of Mysuru, over the charge of obtaining a home loan from a nationalized bank using fake documents. Sources said Mathews obtained regular bail in Aug 2022 in the case.Among the conditions imposed for bail was he shouldn’t leave the country without prior court permission.
Mathews filed a plea in the court seeking relaxation, submitting that he secured a job in a healthcare company in Canada and was offered Rs 2.7 lakh a month as salary.
He promised he would come back to India whenever the court directed him.
