MLC 2024: Los Angeles Knight Riders beat Seattle Orcas to stay alive for playoffs | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Los Angeles Knight Riders collected two valuable points to stay alive in the race for the Major League Cricket 2024 playoffs with a four-wicket victory against Seattle Orcas at Church Street Park in Morrisville on Wednesday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Seattle Orcas were restricted to 142/6 despite a 52-ball 89-run blitzkrieg knock by Ryan Rickelton, who smashed 6 sixes and 7 fours.
The Los Angeles Knight Riders chased down the target with 5 balls to spare with Unmukt Chand top scoring with a 62-run knock that came off 47 balls.

This is the first win for the LA Knight Riders after two losses. The Orcas meanwhile stay at the bottom after another loss.
The LA Knight Riders were chasing a moderate score; all they needed was a few good stands and one excellent inning, which they achieved. Initially, it featured Chand and Jason Roy, and towards the conclusion, Saif Badar played a useful cameo.
However, Chand was the mainstay and had a good knock. He put his side in a position where they may be considered favorites, and Saif Badar completed the task.

Sunil Narine, the captain of the Los Angeles Knight Riders, failed, but Roy and Chand’s 58-run partnership for the second wicket put them ahead.
Orcas on the other hand, bowled well and Harmeet Singh, Lungi Ngidi, Cameron Gannon, and Keemo Paul battled until the very end. But they were short by ten or twelve runs at the bat.
Orcas were all set to score 170 at once but that poor finish cost them the game.
