SRINAGAR: Two suspected Pakistani terrorists were shot dead Thursday near the LoC in Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said. Security forces launched an operation following intelligence about the movement of terrorists along the border, leading to a shootout.
The officials said bodies of the slain terrorists haven’t been extricated from the site as the operation was ongoing.
According to authorities, Pakistan has been persistently pushing terrorists across the border, prompting Indian forces to be extra vigilant.
Early Thursday, BSF troops manning a forward post fired shots at two men moving suspiciously close to the LoC in Sunderbani area of Rajouri district in Jammu region. The men retreated and a search was launched in the area.
