India’s reaction to global Microsoft outage: ‘Reason identified, NIC not affected’ | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: Hours into the Microsoft crisis on Friday, Information technology minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the department is in touch with Microsoft and its associates. The reason for this outage has been identified and updates have been released to resolve the issue, the minister said adding that CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team) was issuing a technical advisory.The National Informatic Centre that handles the government sites has not been affected.
What CERT-In advisory said
The CERT-In said that Windows hosts related to Crowd strike agent Falcon Sensor are facing outages and getting crashed due to a recent update received in the product. These particular Windows hosts are experiencing a Blue Screen of Death related to Falcon Sensor.
The advisory included steps to address the error.

Microsoft outage in India: Situation so far
Airport, airline operations, bank services came to a near-halt situation in India and made a quick switch to manual mode to keep the functioning on. “Our systems are currently impacted by a Microsoft outage, which is also affecting other companies. During this time booking, check-in, access to your boarding pass, and some flights may be impacted,” IndiGo said in an update on X.
“We are all hands-on decks and are working to restore stability and normalcy. Our digital team is also coordinating closely with Microsoft Azure to resolve these issues swiftly,” it stated.
