‘Reality of hatred for Indian Muslims’: Asaduddin Owaisi slams UP govt’s Kanwar yatra order | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief, Asaduddin Owaisi, on Saturday expressed his disapproval of the Uttar Pradesh government‘s recent order mandating that all shops and eateries display the names of their owners and employees.
In a tweet, Owaisi underscored the underlying sentiment by sharing a story from TOI, stating, “Fear on UP’s kanwar routes: This is the reality of hatred for Indian Muslims.Credit for this visceral hatred goes to political parties and leaders of Hindutva, as well as so-called lip-servicing secular parties.”
The Uttar Pradesh government issued directives on Friday requiring shopkeepers and eatery owners to display their names and other details on their establishments in areas where the Kanwar Yatra is organised.
The government clarified that these guidelines aim to ensure the smooth conduct of the yatra and maintain the sanctity of the pilgrims’ faith. Authorities also stated that action would be taken against those selling ‘halal-certified’ products.
The Kanwar Yatra, beginning on July 22 with the start of Shravan month as per Hindu calendar, will conclude on August 2.
