Bollywood star Riteish Deshmukh is set to host the upcoming season of Bigg Boss Marathi. Famous for his acting and charm, Riteish is expected to bring his unique style and energy to the show. Riteish takes over from actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, who hosted the last four seasons of the popular Marathi show. Despite comparisons being drawn between him, Salman Khan, and Mahesh Manjrekar, the Ek Villain star remains unbothered. In an exclusive chat, Riteish opened up about Salman Khan and Mahesh Manjrekar‘s hosting style and one thing he would like to pick from Salman Khan.
Talking about the comparisons, Riteish said, “Whenever a new person takes over responsibility on an existing show there will be comparisons and I don’t think that should bother you. Salman bhau is something else. I feel no one in this world can host this format the way he does, he’s iconic and epic. Mahesh Manjrekar was fantastic, he has his own style and inheritance style. I’ve known him personally and I feel the way he does it, there is a certain swag the way he does it, the way he holds the contestants is phenomenal. He has his own style. So comparisons are bound to happen and I am not worried about it.”
When asked one quality he would like to pick from Salman Khan’s hosting, Riteish said, “I think the best quality about him is that he is himself, Woh Kabhi bhi aisa dikhawa nahi karna chahte ke Woh koi Aur hain. He is the way he is and I think that is very important for every host that doesn’t try to be someone else. Be yourself.”
The actor further opened up about the reason behind saying yes to the show, “It is a format that I’ve always loved and adored and engaged myself as a viewer. I am just happy that I got the opportunity to host the Marathi Bigg Boss. I won’t say I’m nervous, I feel excitement would be the right word. I am eager and anxious to know who the participants, contestants are and how things will unfold because there are a lot of new things starting with the new host itself. I am pretty excited. There were a lot of times when I would ask Genelia if I should go inside Bigg Boss. I know Genelia won’t be able to stay inside for a longer duration and within two hours, she would be out of the show. We both are Bigg Boss fans and watch the show together.”
