Arti Singh candidly discussed the challenges she faced during her battle with depression, including mental struggles and the frustration of not getting the work she desired. Her journey highlights the emotional toll and resilience required to overcome such hardships in the entertainment industry.
Opening up about it, in a digital podcast she shared, “There were a lot of reasons for anxiety and depression. Then I didn’t get work for a long time. I had a lot of mental struggles. I didn’t have that much financially. Because my brother was working and he supported me always. I had a lot of mental struggles. A lot. I went into depression.”
Talking about it on how she took medicines and got out of it, she shared, “Once, I went to a psychiatrist. I took the medicine. And those medicines made me very low, numb. I became so numb that I felt like… I mean, I used to wake up. I used to go to the gym, take medicines, then I used to lose weight. I took medicines for 10 days. After 10 days, I still remember, it was December. And I said… And someone told me to stop it slowly because it has the opposite effects. I said, whatever the effect is, I won’t take it. I went to Golden Temple. I bowed my head. I said, Baba ji, just give me some courage. I have to get out of this. That was the last time I took the medicine. It’s not like it was a miracle overnight. But if you need help, please do get it.”

After coming out of the medicines, Arti shared her struggles during Covid 19 and said, “I did it slowly and came out of it. And not that I say that if you need help, please do that. Even after Bigg Boss, even during COVID, I was scared. So, I knew that I needed help. But then I spoke to a therapist. Because I think when you need help, you should ask for help. There is no harm in that. You get opinions from outside like normally. It’s not an illness.”
