In PM Modi’s ‘Amritkaal’ empty pockets of common citizens also being extracted: Rahul Gandhi | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday targeted the BJP-led Central government highlighting the increasing financial burdens on a common citizens during what he referred to as the “Amritkaal” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In an X post, the Congress leader alleged that the government has waived off Rs 16 lakh crore in debts for industrialists while collecting Rs 8,500 crore from poor Indians through penalties for not maintaining minimum balances in their bank accounts.
“In the Amritkaal of Narendra Modi, the ’empty pockets’ of common Indians are also being extracted. The government that waived off Rs 16 lakh crore of its industrialists has collected Rs 8,500 crore from poor Indians who are unable to maintain even the minimum balance,” Rahul Gandhi said.
“The penalty system is the door of Modi’s Chakravyuh through which an attempt is being made to break the back of the common Indian. But remember, the people of India are not Abhimanyu, they are Arjun, they know how to answer your every atrocity by breaking the Chakravyuh,” he added.

Rahul’s comments come a day after he accused the NDA government in the Lok Sabha of trapping farmers, youth, soldiers, backward classes, and MSMEs in a vicious “chakravyuh” under Modi’s regime. He expressed disappointment that the finance minister did not address farmers’ demands for a legal guarantee on MSP and the caste census clamor.
On Monday, Rahul used the “chakravyuh” theme, suggesting that the mythological episode from Kurukshetra was being re-enacted in the 21st century by a “trap” controlled by the PM, home minister, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Gautam Adani, Mukesh Ambani, and NSA Ajit Doval.
Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget on July 23 in the Parliament, making significant announcements for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh.
