NEW DELHI: With her confidence sky high after breaking shooting’s Olympic medal drought following a long three-year wait, Manu Bhaker didn’t let her fans down as she, along with Sarabjot Singh, won the bronze-medal match in the 10m air pistol team event at the shooting range at Chateauroux on Tuesday.
Manu and Sarabjot took on Korea in the battle for third place on Tuesday and the Indian duo won the match by 16 points to 10.
The 22-year-old Manu is the first Indian to win two medals at the same Olympics (post Independence).
Manu had earlier bagged the bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the same venue.
In the pre-Independence era, British-Indian athlete Norman Pritchard had won two silver medals in 200m sprint and 200m hurdles at the 1900 Olympics.

On Monday, Manu and Sarabjot tallied 580 points as India finished third, just a point behind Serbia, who entered the gold medal match against Turkiye.
Korea bagged the last spot in the medal round with 579 points, pushing the Chinese second team to fifth place.
The second Indian team in the fray – Rhythm Sangwan and Arjun Singh Cheema – had finished in 10th spot with a total of 576 points on Monday.
