Three die, many feared trapped after building collapse in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri: Police | India News – Times of India



At least three people died after a two-story building collapsed in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area on Friday, officials said, adding that the rescue operation is underway as more people are feared to be still trapped.
According to the police, one of the deceased is identified as Mukesh Kumar, 45, who was injured in the incident and succumbed while his treatment was going on in hospital.
Two more persons, including a woman, were pulled out of the rubble and were declared brought dead, the officer said.
The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) reported that three individuals, including a woman, have been rescued so far. The emergency call was received at 12.51pm, and five fire tenders were dispatched to the site.
Local police and other rescue teams were mobilized to assist the efforts.A DFS official stated that the rescue operation is underway.
Officials express concerns that several more people may still be trapped underneath the debris.
