‘Pls na ma’am’: Employee’s leave request leaves internet with advices for ‘GenZ’ | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: After a post regarding an employee requesting for leave went viral on X, the social media users came up with advices for the “gen z population” on how to deal with the corporate culture.
A person named Praachiii posted a screenshot on X with the caption — “imagine being 25 and still pulling the mom said no card.”
In the post, the employee said, “Hello ma’am, Good Afternoon! I wanted to request a half day this Saturday.I understand a leave may be difficult given the project day, but kindly please grant me a half day, as I have to go with my family for a personal event. Please grant me the same.”
To this, Praachiii replied, “Pls pls don’t take” adding “request” accompanied with teary-eyed emoticons.
The employer further pleaded — “pls na ma’am, i really need to, my mom will kill me” adding crying emojis.

The post which was intended to be a light-hearted one drew serious response from the users with one saying, “For the gen z population: never work for a company where you need to cry for leaves.”
“Rule 1 : If you are in a job, never ask permission for leave, start to inform that you will be taking leave. If you have leave balance you deserve it. That’s all If company needs you badly let them try to convince you, not the other way around. Play it with upper hand,” said another.
