Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party‘s Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad has said that “the accused must be hanged”. “Our party has constituted a high-level committee to probe the case,” the MP added, demanding security and Rs 50 lakh compensation for the survivor and her kin.
When TOI asked former UP minister and SP spokesperson Tej Narain Pandey why no party representative had yet met the survivor or her kin, he said, “The SP delegation wants to meet her family, but we are scared of this vindictive government. We are afraid that if the SP delegation meets the survivor’s family, many false cases will get registered against our partymen.”
