MUMBAI: The forensic report of Mihir Shah, accused in the BMW hit-and-run case in which a 45-year-old woman was killed on the morning of July 7, showed no traces of alcohol in his blood, said a police source.
The blood samples of Mihir (24), son of suspended Shiv Sena functionary Rajesh Shah, were obtained three days after the accident as he was on the run.He was caught from a hotel in Virar on July 9. The presence of alcohol in blood can be found if the blood sample of a person who consumed alcohol is taken within 24 hours.
On July 7, after having drinks with friends in Juhu, Mihir’s driver Rishiraj Bidawat drove him from Borivli to Marine Drive. En route Mihir bought 4 cans of stro-ng beer at Malad and consumed them, said police.
On the return trip, Mihir took over the wheels of the BMW and near Atria Mall in Worli allegedly rammed into a couple on a scooter. While the rider, Pradip Nakhwa, fell on the road, his wife Kaveri’s sari got stuck in the BMW’s wheel and got dragged for 1.5km. The accused removed her near Worli sea face and fled.
