‘We are just horses of a chariot but our real ‘saarthi’ is in jail’
Addressing party workers after 17 months in jail, the former deputy chief minister said, Kejriwal was a “symbol of honesty” and “conspiracies” were at play to tarnish the image of the Delhi chief minister. The leader however exuded confidence that Arvind Kejriwal would be released from jail sooner rather than later.
“We are just horses of a chariot but our real ‘saarthi’ is in jail, he will come out soon.’
“BJP, which calls itself the biggest party in the world, could not prove in a single state that honest work is being done in one of their states,” he charged.
‘Was pained to see businessmen being put behind bars in fake cases’
Sisodia also accused the saffron party of framing AAP leaders in false cases and enforcing stringent laws on them, comparing their treatment with how terrorists and drug dealers were being dealt with.
“BJP tried to frame Sanjay Singh, Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders in false cases and impose the country’s strict laws on us in the same manner as to how terrorists and drug dealers are being dealt with. They thought they would lock us up in jails and leave us to rot like terrorists and drug dealers,” he said.
In jail, was pained to see businessmen being put behind bars in fake cases just because they didn’t donate money to BJP, he said.
‘Honesty and truth have won’
Sisodia then went on to heap praise for the SC verdict, saying that the top court used the power of the Constitution to “trample dictatorship“, and that truth ultimately triumphed over lie.
The recently released AAP leader in an effort to put his party back on track, said that he wanted the party workers to ensure victory for AAP in the assembly polls by defeating “dictatorship”.
“The fight against dictatorship is not only AAP’s or opposition’s, but it is the fight of people of India,” he added.
‘Kejriwal has the blessings of god’
Earlier today, Manish Sisodia, accompanied by AAP leaders, visited Raj Ghat in the national capital. This visit followed his arrival at Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place on Saturday morning, where he offered prayers a day after his release from Tihar Jail.
“Lord Bajrang Bali has blessed me. Arvind Kejriwal also has the blessings of Lord Bajrang Bali, and you will see that Kejriwal ji will be blessed in the same way,” Sisodia added.
AAP ecstatic after Sisodia release
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita, said on X after the release of Manish Sisodia that ‘Bhagwaan ke ghar der hai, andher nahi’ (there can be delay in getting justice but it cannot be denied). Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann called it a “victory of truth” while AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha said, Sisodia was in jail for 530 days for the sake of providing good education to children.
“Today truth has won. In the end, only truth wins,” said a post on Delhi CM’s official handle. AAP then later yesterday called a press conference and welcomed the SC order but lamented that the relief took plenty of time.
Accusing BJP of indulging in politics of “hatred”, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said party leaders were jailed because of a political reasons and Sisodia’s release was a victory of judiciary and democracy.
“The prime minister should end the politics of keeping our leaders in jail. No evidence was found againstthem. Kejriwal, Sisodia and Satyendar Jain have been kept in jail by BJP due to ill will,” Singh said. “There is a lot of enthusiasm among AAP workers after Sisodia got bail. Its impact will be felt in the coming elections. We hope CM Kejriwal will also be out of jail soon,” he added.
