Vinesh Phogat and other famous Indian female wrestlers who can rule WWE’s women’s division | WWE News – Times of India

During the last few years, several female wrestlers from India have gone out into the world and have made a name for themselves by winning medals on the biggest stage. The Indian wrestling space as a whole is filled with talent at all levels, just waiting to be tapped into. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that WWE could have a gold mine in their hands if they decide to tap into the Indian market.
India is the most populated country in the world, and its people are brimming with talent. Their female wrestlers have repeatedly proven that they can hang with the best. Today, we’ll be looking at famous Indian female wrestlers who could rule WWE’s women’s division.

Here are some famous Indian female wrestlers who can rule WWE’s women’s division

1) Vinesh Phogat (Potential Olympic silver, made history)

Vinesh Phogat is one of the most celebrated Indian female wrestlers in the world. She has three gold medals at the Commonwealth Games and a gold medal at the Asian Games. Her accolades aren’t just for show, Vinesh is an absolute master in the ring. She proved just how good she is by defeating Yusnelis Guzman Lopez, who had a stellar record of 82-0 ahead of her match against Vinesh.
If Phogat can do it at the biggest stage in the world, she can surely do it in WWE. Her technical ability and athleticism will be more than enough to wipe the floor with the competition.

2) Geeta Phogat (Won India’s first ever gold in women’s wrestling at the Commonwealth Games)

Geeta Phogat became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in women’s wrestling, thus inspiring a whole generation of female wrestlers to go out there and make their country proud. While she was active as a wrestler, Geeta was easily the best in India. It wouldn’t even be a stretch to call her the best in Asia.
Now she’s 35 years old, so competing at the highest level doesn’t seem like a possibility. However, she still has the ability to come in and dominate the WWE’s women’s division. Her age won’t be an issue, and an athlete like Geeta would bring in a ton of viewers from India.

3) Babita Kumari (Commonwealth Games gold and silver)

Babita Kumari Phogat is the younger sister of Geetha Phogat. Both have won medals for India on the biggest stage. While Geeta was more of a technical wrestler, Babita was explosive and could turn things around in an instant thanks to her athleticism. This is a skill that would transition well in WWE.
If Geeta Phogat can do it, Babita Kumari can do it as well. Pairing the two and forming a tag team also seems like an excellent idea, no matter how you look at it. Pairing two of the greatest Indian female wrestlers would make for a team that could run through the entire women’s division. Indians will surely be happy to see the Phogat sisters lift the Tag Team championship belt if this happens.

4) Sakshi Malik (Olympic bronze)

Sakshi Malik won the bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics, which made her the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics. Her achievements are now in the history books, and such greatness is possible thanks to her excellent wrestling skills.
She has been honing these since she was 12 and there is no doubt her wrestling prowess is enough to help her dominate WWE. Looking back at Malik’s career, she has always been sort of a comeback artist. But, if you put her in WWE, her resume leads us to believe she won’t need to make any comebacks.

5) Anshu Malik (First Indian wrestler to win a silver medal at the World Championship)

At the young age of 19, Anshu Malik became the first female Indian wrestler to win a silver at the World Championships. Her ability speaks for itself, and a single glance at her wrestling is enough to tell you that her potential is through the roof. If she can work her skillset over to WWE, nothing and no one will be able to stop Malik from dominating.
However, Malik is still 23 and is still capable of competing at the highest level. It will probably be a few more years before she’s ready to think about the next step of her career. Her coming to WWE is an unlikely scenario, and the same is true for every other wrestler on this list. However, it has to be said that if given a shot, these ladies would dominate WWE.
