Apple CEO Tim Cook joined other tech leaders in expressing condolences and recognizing Wojcicki’s profound impact on the industry.He took to microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter) and said “she was one of Silicon Valley’s visionaries and she will be missed by so many.”

“Saddened to hear of the passing of Susan Wojcicki. She was one of Silicon Valley’s visionaries and she will be missed by so many. May she rest in peace,” Cook wrote in the post.
Wojcicki joined Google as its sixth employee in 1999. She played a pivotal role in Google’s early success before taking the helm at YouTube in 2014. Under her leadership, YouTube grew from a popular video-sharing site into a diverse media platform with over 2 billion monthly active users.
After her death, Pichai shared a memo to Google employees highlighting Wojcicki’s instrumental role in the company’s growth. Pichai recalled how she was kind to him and took Pichai for an ice cream during his interview for the company. Pichai also noted that the company will soon share about how it is “going to celebrate her incredible life.”
