As much as we are in awe of our WWE Superstars, what equally blows us is seeing them grow old and losing them. Having lived their lives as achievers and veterans, their story closes in like any other human being at the end of the day. Sometimes, old age, at other times, diseases. The life journey of these WWE wrestlers inspires us and humbles us both at the same time.Here we list few WWE veterans who passed away in 2024 so far.

1. Sika Anoa’i

Sika Anoa’i

Three times WWE World Tag Team Champion and Hall of Famer, Sika Anoa’i was also the father of Roman Reigns and Rosey. He made his professional debut in the world of wrestling back in 1973 and retired from professional wrestling in 1991. Due to old age and prolonged illness, Sika died on June 25 this year. He was 79.

Wwe Wrestler Deaths In 2024

Frank Caiazzo aka Francisco Ciatso debuted in professional wrestling in the year 1996. Although for most part of his tenure, he was associated with NWA, DSW, he was also briefly associated with WWE and TNA. He passed away on January 20 this year. He was just 48.
3. Akebono

Nicknamed as “Japanese Rikishi”, he was a professional sumo wrestler and professional wrestler from Hawaii. Popularly remembered for being one of the tallest and heaviest figures in the ring, he was a two- time Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion, two- time World Tag Team Champion and two time All Asia Tag Team Champion. His professional career came to an end in 2017 owing to health issues. He passed away on April 6 this year, at 54.
4. Ole Anderson

Anderson’s career started with military service for the U.S. Army, following which he joined professional wrestling debuting for the AWA as Al “The Rock” Rogowski. Remembered for his tough appearances, he was a WCW Hall of Famer (1994) and a wrestling veteran. He passed away on February 26 this year at age 81.
5. Virgil

Best remembered for his tenure with WWE and WCW, Michael Jones aka Virgil made his debut in professional wrestling in 1985. During his tenure with WWE, he was one time WWE Million Dollar Champion. Over the years, he has been the subject of a lot viral memes too. Virgil was suffering from dementia since 2022 and had even suffered two strokes. He eventually passed away on February 28, 2024 of two fatal strokes at the age of 71.
